LOCKED OUT

You really can't lock yourself out unless you've lost the key. There is an emergency key in the key safe on an orange post by the front door. The code is 163850 (top, middle, and bottom row numbers in any order). Pull down and release CLEAR button, enter the code, making sure each number clicks, then slide OPEN button down to release the holder/key. Please return key to safe.

FRONT GATES **CURRENTLY NOT CLOSEABLE**

The big desert winds can blow unsecured gates right off their hinges! Please make sure that the gates are always secured when open. When the gates are closed, the right side (if you are facing out) should have a cane bolt in the ground hole. The left side will lock to the right via the black latch. Please don't use the long slide bars, which lock other guests out.

JOSHUA TREE NATIONAL PARK for free

You can walk into the Joshua Tree National Park. Walk up Sunkist Road for about 18 minutes. At the end of the road, follow the fence apx 90 paces to the left, and enter through the opening. Dogs and motor vehicles are not allowed. If you chance your dog, please keep it on a leash. Not the best of the park, but it is free. Take bottled water! When you‛ve drunk half, turn back!

PETS

When pets are indoors, they must be house-trained and restrained from getting on the furniture (doggy bed please).

PRIVATE AREA

The space behind each cabin (gazebo/doghouse area) is the private area for that cabin. Please be considerate of the other guests' privacy while they are at the Ranch, unless of course they invite you on over!

SMOKING

Please smoke only outside, and please don‛t leave butts on the ground. Please trash them, or failing that, put them in a firepit.

GRILLING

We have a charcoal "chimney starter", which eliminates the need for liquid fuel. Stuff apx 6 paper balls into the bottom of the starter. Place the starter on the ground. Fill the top of the starter with coals. Light the paper. While the coals burn, make a bed of unlit coals in the grill. Using a glove, pour the hot coals over the unlit coals. The hot coals will light and burn the new coals.

TRASH

Please place filled trash bags in the metal trash cans located near the front gate. New bags are usually located under the sink or at the bottom of the cabin trash can. We do not have recycling pickup, however we can use colored/cool bottles for creative projects. Leave them by the "bird feeder totem pole".

WANDERING DOGS

Take a stick if you walk your pet in the “neighborhood” just in case you run into any pushy wandering dogs. Call Animal Control (above) if you have any problems.
