LOCKED OUT

You really can't lock yourself out unless you've lost the key. There is an emergency key in the key safe on an orange post by the front door. The code is 163850 (top, middle, and bottom row numbers in any order). Pull down and release CLEAR button, enter the code, making sure each number clicks, then slide OPEN button down to release the holder/key. Please return key to safe.

FRONT GATES

Unfortunately, the gates are no longer closeable due to damage.

JOSHUA TREE NATIONAL PARK for free

You can walk into the Joshua Tree National Park. Walk up Sunkist Road for about 18 minutes. At the end of the road, follow the fence to the left, and enter through the opening. Dogs and motor vehicles are not allowed. If you chance your dog, please keep it on a leash. Not the best of the park, but it is free. Take bottled water! When it's half empty, head back.

PETS

When pets are indoors, please don't allow them on the furniture (doggy bed  or cover with a sheet please).

PRIVATE AREA

The space behind each cabin is the private area for that cabin. Please be considerate of the other guests' privacy while they are at the Ranch, unless of course they invite you on over!

SMOKING

Please smoke only outside, and please don‛t leave butts on the ground. Please trash them, or put them in a firepit.

GRILLING

We have a charcoal "chimney starter", which eliminates the need for liquid fuel. Stuff apx 6 paper balls into the bottom of the starter. Place the starter on the bottom grate of the bbq. Fill the the chimney with coals. Light the paper. When the coals have finished flaming, use an oven mitt or thick gloves to pour the hot coals onto the grill grate.

TRASH

Please place filled trash bags in the metal trash cans located near the front gate, or the dumpster out by the big water tank by the road. New bags are usually located under the sink or at the bottom of the cabin trash can. We do not have recycling pickup, however we can use colored/cool bottles for creative projects. Leave them by the "bird feeder totem pole".

WANDERING DOGS

Take a stick if you walk your pet in the “neighborhood” just in case you run into any pushy wandering dogs. If it's a tan-colored dog with light blue eyes, his name is Sasha, and he'll always make his own way back home. Call Animal Control (above) if you have any problems.
